IMPAIRED DRIVERS
(North Glengarry) – On December 4, 2016 at approximately 1:21am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township. The stop indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Steven DOANE (49) of Casselman, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 22, 2016.
(North Glengarry) – On December 4, 2016 at approximately 1:38am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision on a trail off of Industrial Boulevard in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had lost control and rolled the side-by-side ATV. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Further information revealed he was under the influence of alcohol.
Sebastien THERRIEN (21) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 22, 2016.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS
(North Dundas) – On December 2, 2016 at approximately 8:35am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Thompson Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his spouse resulted in the female being assaulted.
The 37-year-old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault – Spousal
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (previous incident)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Stormont) – On December 2, 2016 at approximately 6:29pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on County Road 12, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his common-law spouse resulted in the male causing damage within the home and threatened to cause additional damage.
The 26-year-old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief – Domestic
– Utter Threats – Damage Property
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 13, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Dundas) – On December 3, 2016 – SD&G OPP officers began an investigation into a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Village of Iroquois, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that altercations between an adult male and his girlfriend over the past months resulted in the female being sexually assaulted and threatened. Damage to property was also caused.
The 33-year-old male from Kitley Township was arrested on December 4, 2016 and is charged with;
– Sexual Assault
– Uttering Threats – Spousal
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
DRUGS SEIZED
(South Glengarry) – On December 2, 2016 at approximately 4:48pm, OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) checks
on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township (South Lancaster). A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana and pepper spray.
The female driver, Angela ZIMMERMAN (54) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 8, 2017.
(Cornwall) – On December 2, 2016 at approximately 10:39pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Trillium Drive in the City of Cornwall, Ontario. The check resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The 20-year-old male driver and 17-year-old female passenger, both from Cornwall, Ontario were arrested and each charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall in January 2017. The adult’s name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the young person.
