IMPAIRED DRIVERS

(South Glengarry) – On December 10, 2016 at approximately 5:14am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) had collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer unit. No injuries resulted. Further investigation revealed that the adult male driver of the SUV was under the influence of alcohol.

Christopher FALLER (34) of Rigaud, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 29, 2016.
(North Dundas) – On December 11, 2016 at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Development Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the adult female driver was under the influence of a drug, therefore in contravention of a condition (abstain from drugs) stemming from a previous incident. Officers also seized a quantity of suspected cocaine from inside the vehicle.

Callie PITTICCO (29) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or Control of a Vehicle While Impaired by a Drug
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Fail to Comply with an Undertaking

She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
FESTIVE RIDE

(SD&G) – Three (3) weeks into the Festive Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) campaign, SD&G OPP officers have conducted a total of 72 RIDE checkpoints across the United Counties. Three (3) drivers have been charged with Impaired Driving. The initiative continues to January 2, 2017.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE

(South Glengarry) – On December 9, 2016 at approximately 5:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Airport Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a grey 2003 Chev Impala was stolen and located damaged and abandoned on Fraser Road a short time later (6:00pm).
An investigation continues.
