Major Drug Bust in Ottawa – 12 Charged via Project STEP Dec 15, 2016

Project STEP results in 12 people charged with drug offences

(Ottawa) — In March of 2015, the Ottawa Police Service began an investigation into a group of people believed to be trafficking Cocaine and Marihuana in the Ottawa area.

The file progressed with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and Laval Police. Early this week, after 21 months of investigative work, the file concluded with the arrest of 12 people.

Over the course of the investigation, seizures included:

  • Seven (7) shot guns and two (2) sawed off shot guns
  • Ammunition
  • Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser)
  • Brass knuckles
  • Drug presses and associated plates
  • Numerous cell phones
  • Financial documents
  • Five motor vehicles
  • Over $300,000 in Canadian currency

The following drugs were seized:

  • Cocaine
  • Heroin
  • Dried Marihuana and Marihuana plants
  • Pills including Oxycodone, Methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), Methamphetamine
  • Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) Concentrate (Cannabis oil)
  • Hashish

Charged were:

  • Samantha Cross, 41 years old (f) of Ottawa
  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking marihuana contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) CC

Peter Croteau, 66 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Trafficking Marihuana contrary to section 5(1) CDSA
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking marihuana contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Harvey Dalaise, 39 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime contrary to Section 354(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Dani Khoury, 37 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) CC

Carlo Milito, 48 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
  • Possession marihuana, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Leonardo Milito, 46 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA x4
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code x2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Jansen Morash, 32 years old of Arnprior

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA x2
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking marihuana, contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized Possession of a firearm, contrary to Section 91(1) CC x3
  • Possession of a firearm knowing not authorized, contrary to Section 92(1) CC
  • Careless storage of a firearm, contrary to Section 86(1) CC x3
  • Careless storage of a firearm, contrary to Section 86(1) CC x3
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) CC

Duc Diep Nguyen, 36 years old of Ottawa

  • Produce marihuana, contrary to Section 7(1) CDSA
  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) CDSA x2

Nikola Pavlovich, 35 years old of Ottawa

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking contrary, to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary, to Section 5(2) CDSA
  • : Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) CC
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) contrary, to Section 92(2) CC
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking marihuana, contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code

Peter Pavlovich, 34 years old of Metcalfe

  • Possession of cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
  • Possession hashish, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
  • Possession marihuana, contrary to Section 4(1) CDSA
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code

  • Possession of MDA for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2)
  • Possession of hashish for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2)
  • Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA.
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
