SD&G #OPP Busy Weekend of Alcohol & Marijuana Charges MARCH 27, 2017

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Stormont) – On March 25, 2017 at approximately 11:11am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on County Road 12, South Stormont Township. The vehicle was intercepted and the adult male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Donald GIBBONS (51) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

– Driving While Disqualified

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 25, 2017.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(South Stormont) – On March 24, 2017 at approximately 6:09pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Highway 138, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the male assaulting the female and causing damage within the home.

The 25-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

– Mischief Under $5000 – Domestic

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 18, 2017. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(South Stormont) – On March 24, 2017 at approximately 6:37pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Highway 138, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult female and her ex-spouse resulted in the male being assaulted.

The 28-year-old female from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 18, 2017. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(North Stormont) – On March 26, 2017 at approximately 11:06pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Henry Street, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-girlfriend resulted in both assaulting each other and causing damage within the home.

The 30-year-old male from North Stormont Township and 23-year-old female from South Dundas Township were arrested and each charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

– Mischief Under $5000 – Domestic

The female faces additional charges of;

– Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking (2 counts).

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 18, 2017. Names are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.

DRUGS SEIZED

(North Dundas) – On March 24, 2017 at approximately 2:21pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on St-Lawrence Street, North Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. Two (2) male occupants were arrested.

The driver, Joseph GILLMOR (27) of South Dundas Township is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

The passenger, James ELLIS (29) of Cardinal, Ontario is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

– Fail to Comply With Probation Order

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on May 2, 2017.

(South Stormont) – On March 25, 2017 at approximately 9:44am, an OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 12, South Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Andre VALADE (34) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 25, 2017.

(North Glengarry) – On March 25, 2017 at approximately 1:41pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 30, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Martin DESJARDINS (31) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 3, 2017.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(North Dundas) – On March 24, 2017 at approximately 10:35am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a property on Kittle Road, North Dundas Township following a report of an adult female who was breaching conditions (non-communication, notify change of address) stemming from a previous incident.

Melissa WADE (35) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on April 4, 2017.

(North Glengarry) – On March 24, 2017 – SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a male youth in contravention of conditions (keep the peace – attend school). On March 27, 2017 – the youth was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Conditions (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
