Prescott #opp Round Up for April 4, 2017

(Prescott,Ont.) – Between Monday March 26th, to Sunday April 2nd 2017, the Prescott Office of the Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 102 general occurrences. Of these occurrences, 33 were in Edwardsburgh /Cardinal Township, 19 in Augusta Township, 34 in the town of Prescott and 16 on highway 401 and 416.

On March 30th, 2017 at approximately 9:30am, members of the Grenville County Drug Unit and the OPP East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a search warrant at a residence on King Street, in Prescott. Officers seized an undisclosed amount of marihuana, weight scales and cash. Jeffrey ARMSTRONG, age 25, from Prescott was charged with Possess a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, The co-accused, Gerry BLAIN, age 33, from Prescott, was charged with possession of marihuana under 30 grams.

On March 31st 2017, at approximately 3pm, the OPP attended the O’Reilly’s Independent Grocer, located at 150 Prescott Centre Drive, in Prescott Ontario. At this location a Loss Prevention Officer had attempted to arrest a male for shoplifting. The male resisted arrest and a scuffle ensued. The male’s female companion became involved in the scuffle and jumped on top of the Loss Prevention Officer. The pair fled from the scene in a vehicle travelling west bound on highway 401. An officer observed the suspect vehicle at Merwin lane, in Augusta Township and the vehicle was stopped. The pair were arrested and transported to the Prescott OPP detachment.

Richard BISCOPE, age 31 from Ottawa is charged with:

  • Assault peace officer with intent to resist arrest
  • Theft under $5000.

Additionally, the co-accused, Katie SAUVE, age 30 from Ottawa was charged with assault peace officer with the intent to resist arrest.

On April 1, 2017, officer’s responded to a 911 call on County Road 18, in Augusta Township. At this location, a home owner had reported that a female had knocked on his door and window at approximately 3:30am. The homeowner did not answer the door, due to the time of day and the female departed in a pick-up truck. The suspect vehicle was located by police, on Blue Church Road, in Augusta Township. The female driver was found to be impaired and was arrested.

Sheena JACKSON, age 34, from Oshawa is charged with:

  • Care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired
  • Care or control of a motor vehicle over 80mgs
