OPP Break in at 100 Islands Hemp Store in Prescott APRIL 18, 2017

(Prescott,Ont.) – Between Monday April 10th, to Monday April 17th 2017, the Prescott Office of the Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 89 general occurrences. Of these occurrences, 22 were in Edwardsburgh /Cardinal Township, 17 in Augusta Township, 33 in the town of Prescott and 18 on highway 401 and 416.

On April 11th police attended a break and enter at the 1000 Islands Hemp Store, located on King Street, in the town of Prescott. The front door to the business had been smashed and numerous glass bongs had been stolen. The OPP Forensic Identification Unit attended the location to gather evidence at the scene.

On April the 11th, a resident reported that an unknown suspect had spray painter graffiti on the side of their garage. The garage was located on St. Lawrence Street, in the town of Prescott.

On April the 14th, 2017, an OPP officer was conducting stationary radar at an emergency U-turn, on highway 416, in Edwardsburgh Township. While the officer was operating the radar, a male driver pulled into the noted U-turn. The officer approached the driver and determined that the driver had been drinking. The 31 year old driver from North Grenville was issued a 3 day driving suspension for driving with a blood alcohol concentration in the “warn range”.

On April 17th, an OPP officer was on general patrol when they noticed 2 males in the area of a Churchill apartment complex, in Prescott Ontario. Upon further investigation, the 2 males were arrested for possession of stolen Property, under $5000.00 . The 19 year old males, from Prescott, confessed to numerous thefts from vehicles in the town of Prescott
