Cornwall Police Seek Assistance After SUV Strikes 2 Skate Boarders APRIL 27,2017

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Traffic Unit is investigating a collision that occurred at approximately 11:30 pm on April 26th, 2017. A gold coloured SUV travelling East on Fourth Street from Cumberland struck two skateboarders aged 18 and 19. Both men suffered serious injuries and were transported to the Ottawa Hospital. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information about the matter is asked to contact Cst. Dupuis at (613)933-5000 ext. 2755.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Cody Burelle, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on April 26th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on April 25th, 2017 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 26th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 6th, 2017.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 25th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with her husband and for being within 200 meters of where he might be. It is alleged the woman was found to be in breach of her conditions on April 25th, 2017 by being in the company of her husband. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.
