Local Doctor charged with Sexual assault

(Ottawa) – Today, the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into the sexual misconduct of a doctor towards his patients.
The SACA investigation started in 2016 and some reported incidents date back to 2012. So far, three female victims have been identified.
The suspect, a family medical practitioner, worked in the West end of the city at a local Medical Centre.
Walid Al HOUSSAN, 56 years old, of Ottawa is charged with:
- 3 counts of Sexual assault;
- 1 count of Sexual interference of a female under 16; and
- 1 count of Sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
SACA investigators believe there may be more victims.
