Leeds #OPP Charge 17 Year Old With Impaired After Collision 1000 Islands Pkwy MAY 29, 2017

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds County Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation involving an impaired driver with a stolen motor vehicle.

On the 28th of May 2017 at about 4:15 AM O.P.P officers were advised of a collision on the 1000 Islands Parkway in Front of Yonge Township. Investigation revealed that the driver was involved in a single motor vehicle collision at Jones Creek. The driver who fled from police on foot was apprehended and was arrested for impaired driving. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle he was driving was stolen.

A 17 year old Brockville youth who will not be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act faces an Impaired Driving charge, and a Theft of Motor Vehicle charge contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He also faces a Fail to Remain charge under the Highway Traffic Act.

He will be facing an upcoming court date at the Ontario Youth Court of Justice, provincial Division in Brockville.

The investigation continues.
