Cornwall Police Blotter for Wednesday June 8, 2017

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Alexis McDougall, 35 of Mallorytown was arrested on June 6th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during the month of December, 2016 the woman cashed a cheque that did not belong to her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On June 6th, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, THEFT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 6th, 2017 and charged with assault, theft, criminal harassment and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man repeatedly communicated with his ex-girlfriend despite having been warned by her not to. It is also alleged on June 6th, 2017 the man followed her in his vehicle then assaulted her and someone else. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody and found to be in possession of the woman’s ID. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
