Man charged with assaulting Parking Enforcement Officer, Church Street and Front Street East area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an Assault investigation.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, a man was arrested for assaulting a Parking Enforcement Officer in the Church Street and Front Street East area.

It is alleged that:

– the officer observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone

– she approached the vehicle and advised the male driver to move his vehicle

– he failed to follow her direction

– she issued a ticket to the vehicle

– he got out of his vehicle, followed the officer and began yelling at her

– he then spat on her

Dean Christopher Barnes, 36, of Brampton, was arrested and has been charged with:

1) Assault Peace Officer

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Monday, August 14, 2017, 2 p.m., room 505.
