(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND) On June 18, 2017 at approximately 09:00 hours, officers from the Russell County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with assistance from Ottawa Police Service, Clarence Rockland Fire Department and Prescott Ambulance Services attended a two (2) vehicle head-on collision on County Road 17, one kilometre east of McTeer Road, in Clarence-Rockland.
Investigation indicated that the one of the drivers, fell asleep, crossed the centre line and collided with on oncoming vehicle. Both driver’s, who were also the lone occupants of their vehicles, received serious injuries as a result of the collision and were transported to hospital via land and air Ambulance.
Robert Maurice LeBLOND (59) of Ottawa, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving and Drive While Under Suspension.
