(RUSSELL COUNTY, ON) – On July 2, 2017 at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Russell County detachment responded to a report of a deceased person on the shoulder portion of westbound Highway #417 near mile marker 88.
Upon arriving on scene the officers located human remains. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and members from the Russell County Crime Unit.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and an update will be issued when accurate and confirmed information becomes available
OPP currently have Highway #417 westbound closed at mile marker 88 and the on-ramp at mile marker 79. Detours are in effect.
Jamie go on Ottawas papers the Citizen as well as the Sun and there was a shooting on Meaghan Private just southeast of where I live. This is a new area built by Lebanese people. The area has been trouble for some time and very expensive homes. Hubby and I went in that area to get a translator from English to Arabic a few years ago. Ottawa is getting bad – guns smuggled in from the US.
