Unwanted Person complaint leads to arrest

A 34 year old Brockville woman was arrested early yesterday afternoon after she was in the King Street Mac’s Milk for a second time during the day causing a disturbance and complaining about stolen property.

When officers arrived at about 2:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, they found the woman to be well under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently placed under arrest for being intoxicated in a public place and brought to the police station for her safety.

She was released later in the evening when sober with a Provincial Offences Notice.

 

Local Car Dealer finds someone living in their van

A local Brockville Car dealer found a little more than expected when they went to inspect vehicles on their lot yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to the local dealership around 2:30 pm yesterday afternoon after staff, inspecting the vehicles in their lot; found someone had been living in one of their vehicles after they discovered clothes, an air mattress and sleeping bag in the back of one of their cube vans.

From the property left in the van, police were able to identify the owner and make arrangements for the return of his property and other living accommodations.

 

Theft of Air Compressor

An air compressor motor and hoses were taken from a vehicle overnight Wednesday on Hartley Street.

Brockville Police received a report yesterday afternoon from the victim who reported that his air compressor described as having a red tank, grey motor and black hoses was taken from his vehicle overnight Wednesday.

Good Samaritan Returns Property

Brockville Police would like to extend our thanks to a 56 year old Spencerville man who turned in a young Ottawa woman’s wallet at the front desk of the Police Station yesterday morning he found on the roadway in the North Augusta Road area.

After looking through the identification in the wallet, police were able to reach the owner through Facebook and reach her to return to the Brockville Police Service to reunite her with her property. When arrived at the Brockville Police station, she was very pleased that all of her pictures, credit cards, identification, and all of her money including her change were still in her wallet.

July 5 – 6, 2017 Incidents

Graffiti painted on Kensington Plaza

Yesterday morning Brockville Police were contacted by a resident in the Kensington Plaza area reporting new graffiti on Kensington Plaza where “Brockville Crips” was painted in blue paint. There was also new damage to street signs and electrical boxes in the area.

Traffic Stop leads to arrest on outstanding warrant

A traffic stop yesterday morning lead to the arrest of a 32 year old Brockville man on an outstanding warrant from Leeds OPP.

At approximately 11:20 a.m. yesterday morning Brockville officers stopped a dark green 2003 Chevrolet Malibu in Central Avenue near Ferguson Drive. As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation, it was learned the driver had his licence suspended, was on probation and currently on release from outstanding charges in addition to the outstanding warrant.

As a result, he was charged by Brockville Police for driving while under suspension, breaching his undertaking and breach of his probation order prior to being turned over to Leeds OPP on their warrant.

 

Disturbance leads to Drug and Possession of Stolen Property Charges

Yesterday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Brockville Police were called to the parking lot beside Beattie Dodge in downtown Brockville to a disturbance taking place involving two men and a woman.

When officers arrived they located a 46 year old Brockville man, his 48 year old girlfriend and another 31 year old Brockville area man in the lot who were known to the officers. Upon speaking with the involved persons at the scene it was learned the 31 year old man had stolen property in his possession and was placed under arrest.

After the man was arrested a quantity of drugs was found in his possession and seized by police. As a result the man is now facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released with a future court date.

July 4 – 5, 2017 Incidents

Power Tools stolen from vehicle

A number of power tools and a man’s wallet were stolen from a parked vehicle overnight Monday on Centre Street.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning Brockville Police were contacted by the victim who reported that overnight he had parked his vehicle on Centre Street before retiring for the evening. When he awakened and went to his vehicle he found his doors unlocked and open, his interior light on and his power tools and wallet missing from his vehicle. At the time of the report, the victim was still compiling a list of the stolen tools.

Theft from Rexall Pharmacy

Brockville Police are looking for a male suspect in connection with a theft from Rexall Pharmacy at 30 Pearl Street West yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress at the pharmacy when staff observed a male select a number of items and conceal them before leaving the store on a bicycle. The male was last observed leaving west on Pearl Street toward Buell Street.

The male suspect is described as a white male, smaller build with visible tattoos, wearing a black ball cap with a red brim backwards, white shirt and long shorts. He was also carrying a grass trimmer on his bike as he was riding away.

Motor Vehicle Collision sends one to hospital with minor injuries

A 41 year old Brockville area man is charged with Careless Driving after a three vehicle collision yesterday afternoon at Parkedale Ave and North Augusta Road.

At 4:20 p.m. officers responded to a three car collision in front of Wal-Mart department store yesterday afternoon. On arrival a female passenger in one of the vehicles had minor injuries which resulted in Leeds and Grenville EMS responding and taking her to the Brockville General Hospital for minor injuries. She was later released.
