The Cornwall Free News Updated Comment Policy for JULY 11, 2017

Cornwall Ontario – We always look for ways to improve your favorite newspaper and we’re proud today to announce our new comment policy for our amazing CFN viewers!

Many newspapers no longer allow comments on site, like the Standard Freeholder, preferring to allow comments on social media where they post their stories.

CFN still believes in our Mission and Vision statements.

We recently asked viewers whether we should still allow comments and the overwhelming answer was yes.

Here is our current policy:

CFN has a new comment policy. You must use your real first and last name. As well if your email bounces we will terminate your posting privileges.

We value all input from our amazing CFN viewers and are always trying to improve the viewer experience which includes making this a safe, informative, and entertaining platform.

As of July 11, 2017 we will ask you to not make any totem posts, and try to make sure that your comment is directly related to the story subject and/or comment that you’re responding to.   We have now made official our comment character limit of 400 spaces.   If you can’t make your comment in that space please wait until another viewer comments.   We will no longer allow multiple comments in a row by the same viewer.
