Ottawa Basketball Coach Charged with Sexual Offences on Teenage Girl

 

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into the sexual exploitation of a female under the age of 18.

Dejan Tanasijevic, 62-years-old, is a well-known coach and personal trainer in the women’s basketball community. While training a female, under the age of 18, he provided her with a recovery massage during which he sexually assaulted her.

The investigation is ongoing.

Mr. Tanasijevic is charged with the following offences:

Sexual Exploitation contrary to section 153 C.C.

Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 C.C.

Forcible Confinement contrary to section 279(2) C.C.

He is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.

SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.
