CHARGES LAID – THEFTS

(NORTH DUNDAS) – On October 2, 2017 at approximately 2:33pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont Dundas and Glengarry officers responded to a report of a theft of alcohol at a business on County Road 3, South Mountain, Ontario. The male suspect left the store in a dark vehicle. Community Street Crime officers observed the vehicle on County Road 1, South Dundas Township.

The motor vehicle was then involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 401eastbound on ramp, South Dundas Township.

The male driver fled from the vehicle and was successfully intercepted by officers at the location.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle (he was driving) was stolen from Ottawa, Ontario and a check of the male driver revealed his driving privileges were suspended stemming from previous driving related offences.

The adult male was also in contraception of court ordered conditions as a result of a previous incident and the incident resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected heroine

The male was also charged in connection with similar thefts at a business in Spencerville, Ontario.

 

James Raymond RUSH (32) of Ottawa, Ontario is charged with;

 

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

– Possession of property obtained by Crime – over $5000

Possession of property obtained by Crime – under $5000 ( 2 counts)

– Fail to comply with probation order

– Drive while disqualified (3 counts)

– Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting

– Theft Under $5000 (3 counts) – Spencerville incidents

 

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
