Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for October 26, 2017 #CCPS

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Gilles Desforges, 40 of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on October 14th, 2017 the man entered a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 24th, 2017 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 30th, 2017.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Derek Richardson, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2017 and charged with break and enter and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 11th, 2017 the man made his way into a closed business and removed a quantity of cash. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 24th, 2017 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 24th, 2017 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by house rules X 2 and failing to attend school as directed. It is alleged during the month of October, 2017 the youth breached his conditions on three occasions and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

There were 45 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
