Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 119 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on November 6, 2017. Of these, 74 calls occurred in the city central area, 26 in the west end, 6 in the east end, and 2 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

  • 4 assault calls
  • 1 sexual assault
  • 2 harassment calls
  • 5 fight/disturbance calls
  • 5 undesirable calls
  • 1 drunk call
  • 1 custody dispute call
  • 8 alarm calls
  • 2 noise complaints
  • 1 missing person call
  • 2 Mental Health Act calls
  • 2 medical assist calls
  • 7 assist citizen calls
  • 3 break and enter calls
  • 11 theft calls
  • 1 shoplifting call
  • 7 mischief calls
  • 3 fraud calls
  • 6 motor vehicle collisions
  • 1 parking/vehicle complaint
  • 5 driving complaints
  • 1 traffic concern
  • 4 suspicious activity calls

There were 6 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 4 men and 2 women, between 24 and 34 years of age, for the following: assault, utter threats to cause death, theft, utter counterfeit money, fraud, breach probation and fail to attend court.

Man Attacks Woman when She Confronts Him for Yelling at Friend

A 26-year-old local man was arrested after attacking a woman when she confronted him for yelling at her friend, his ex-girlfriend.

On November 6, 2017 the victim was at her home when she received a call from her friend who had just left. The friend’s ex-boyfriend had been waiting outside and was now yelling at her and refusing to leave. The victim went out to confront the man and a heated dispute erupted. The dispute escalated and the man exited his vehicle and punched the victim in the side of the head, knocking her to the ground. He then stood over top of her and began punching her head and neck numerous times before returning to his vehicle and fleeing.

Police and ambulance attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. the accused was located at his residence and arrested. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with assault.

Woman Charged after Using Counterfeit $100 Bill

A 24-year-old local woman was arrested and charged after using a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for her taxi ride.

On November 4, 2017 the accused took a taxi to a local hotel and paid her fare with a $100 U.S. bill. The bill was later deemed to be counterfeit and police were contacted.

On November 6, 2017 police located the accused at the same hotel. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with utter counterfeit money, fraud, breach probation and fail to attend court.

Man Assaults Ex-Girlfriend and then Chases Her with Golf Club

A 34-year-old local man of no fixed address was arrested after assaulting and chasing his ex-girlfriend down the street with a golf club.

On November 6, 2017 at approximately 8:00 a.m. the victim returned to her home and found the accused still there. The accused and the victim had a brief relationship, but since then he refused to leave and the victim had been avoiding coming home for fear of the accused.

The accused awoke as the victim was collecting some clothing and the two began arguing. The accused grabbed the victim by her hair and began throwing her around and struck her in the face. The victim managed to flee, dropping her purse as she did, which the accused took.

As the victim was on foot heading south on Montreal Street the accused began following while carrying a golf club and threatening to kill her if she called police. The victim managed to find a safe place and police were called. Officers responded and located the victim who was bleeding from injuries to her face.

The accused was found back at the residence and arrested. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.

The accused was charged with assault, utter threats to cause death, and theft.

Police Asking Public for Information in Hobby Shop Break and Enter

On November 6, 2017 at approximately 2:00 a.m. a break and enter occurred at a Hobby Shop located at 699 Gardiners Road. Glass in the front door was smashed out to gain entry.

Three white and one orange high end Autel Robotics XStar Permium Drones and one radio control buggy were stolen.

Two male suspects were wearing dark clothing and masks.
