Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 141 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on December 5, 2017. Of these, 96 calls occurred in the city central area, 27 in the west end, 3 in the east end, and 1 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

There were 10 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 7 men and 3 women, between 13 and 52 years of age, for the following: break and enter, possession of break-in tools, possession of a controlled substance, theft, willfully cause unnecessary suffering to an animal, sexual assault, resist arrest, possession of stolen property, and breach probation. One person was arrested on a warrant.

19-year-old Man Arrested after 3 Women Sexually Assaulted

A 19-year-old man of no fixed address is facing numerous charges after sexually assaulting three women between 18 and 24 years of age within a span of 10 minutes.

On December 5, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the first victim was waiting for her friend out front of an address on University Avenue in the Queen’s University Campus. The accused who is not a Queen’s Student, approached the victim from behind and put his hand on her buttocks before asking her if she wanted to have sex. The victim told him to leave or she would call for help and the accused fled.

At approximately 9:40 p.m. the next two victims were walking on Barrie Street in the Queen’s University Campus when the accused began following them. As the two entered a pathway in the City Park located at 90 Kings St East the accused approached from behind and violently wrapped his arms around them. One female broke free while the other fell to the ground with the accused on top of her. After a brief struggle the second female broke free and both women fled and called police.

Officers were able to respond quickly to the area and located the accused laying on the ground in the park. The accused was uncooperative with police and attempted to spit at and kick the arresting officers.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with three counts of sexual assault, resist arrest and two counts of breach probation.

Three Youths Steal Dog then Abandon it to the Elements

Two 13-year-olds and one 17-year-old youth, all from Kingston, have been arrested and charged after stealing a dog and then abandoning it to the elements.

On December 5, 2017 at approximately 7:45 p.m. police responded to an address in the downtown area of Princess Street for a report of a stolen dog. An investigation revealed three female accused had stopped to play with the dog that was outside the residence. After joking about stealing the dog, the girls did just that.

The three youths fled with the dog eastbound on Princess Street where they boarded a City Bus, but after hearing a description of the stolen dog over the radio the youths exited the bus somewhere along King Street where they abandoned the dog, leaving it tied up and exposed to the cold wind and rain.

Through the investigation officers were able determine the girls to another bus to a west end residence. All three youths were located and arrested.

One of 13-year-olds was released on conditions with a future court date. The other two accused were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The three accused were jointly charged with theft and willfully cause unnecessary suffering to an animal.

The dog has not yet been found and was left tied up somewhere along King Street or Ontario Street between downtown and City Park. He is described as a bull mastiff/boxer mix, reddish-brown in colour with black tips and black around his eyes, 90 lbs and about 1 year old. He answers to the name “Pharaoh” and was last seen wearing a red leopard print collar with a choke chain and a red leash.

Two Men Caught in the Act of Break and Enter

A 28-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, both from Kingston, were caught in the act of a break and enter.

On December 6, 2017 at approximately 3:15 a.m. police responded to a report of suspicious activity at a compound on Lappan Lane. Officer responded and observed the two accused inside a fenced in area. Both men ran and jumped the fence, but were quickly apprehended in a ditch area just outside the complex.

During a search of a backpack belonging to the 28-year-old accused, officers found tools commonly used for break and enter. During a search of the 45-year-old accused, officers found a baggie of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

Both accused was transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The men were jointly charged with break and enter. The 28-year-old accused was additionally charged with possession of break-in tools. The 45-year-old accused was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

  1. I have always told my now adult kids that as society goes on the worse it gets. Todays society is the worse. The only society that I would like is that of the 1950s and better. To abuse innocent animals, etc. is terrible. This world is not for me at all nor for my family.
