Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 129 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on January 22, 2018. Of these, 74 calls occurred in the city central area, 16 in the west end, 4 in the east end, and 4 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

  • 1 domestic call
  • 1 assault call
  • 1 sexual assault
  • 4 harassment calls
  • 5 undesirable calls
  • 1 custody dispute call
  • 3 alarm calls
  • 2 noise complaints
  • 3 missing person calls
  • 5 Mental Health Act calls
  • 1 medical assist call
  • 10 assist citizen calls
  • 1 break and enter call
  • 10 theft calls
  • 1 theft of vehicle call
  • 3 mischief calls
  • 4 fraud calls
  • 5 motor vehicle collisions
  • 1 driving complaint
  • 10 suspicious activity calls

There were 5 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 4 men and 1 woman, between 15 and 46 years of age, for the following: assault, uttering threats, theft, possession of stolen property, breach recognizance, and two counts of breach probation. One person was arrested on a warrant.

Woman Caught While Breaching 6 Court Ordered Conditions

A 32-year-old local woman has been arrested after officers found her breaching six court ordered release conditions.

On January 22, 2018 the accused ignored numerous court order conditions of her release and attended her mother’s residence. While at the residence the accused became involved in a verbal argument with her brother that escalated to yelling. Police received a disturbance call to the address and found the accused still present. The accused was arrested once officers determined she was breaching several of her court ordered conditions.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing.

The accused was charged with six counts of breach recognizance.

Update: Police Searching for 5 Men Wanted in Relation to Violent Robbery

On January 23, 2018 at approximately 8:00 a.m. the 27-year-old local accused attended a coffee shop on Princess Street. While in the restaurant the accused was recognized by several citizens as a result of recent media releases. Police responded to the restaurant and the accused was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.

Police would like to thank citizens for their assistance and for the sharing of the media releases. The investigation continues as police search for the outstanding wanted suspects. If you see any of these men, please call 911 and do not approach.

On January 19, 2018, a 35-year-old Harrowsmith man wanted for the January 9, 2018 robbery was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.

On January 17, 2018, the 34-year-old local man wanted for the January 9, 2018 robbery was arrested. The accused was held pending a bail hearing and is charged with forcible confinement, robbery, assault, kidnapping, and breach probation.

On January 9, 2018 the victim was taken to a Lansdowne Street address where multiple suspects were involved in restraining, violently beating and robbing him. It is believed the suspects also forced him to empty his bank account.

On January 12, 2018 a 29-year-old local man was arrested and charged with robbery, forcible confinement, assault, kidnapping and breach of undertaking.

Through an on-going investigation Detectives have identified five other men involved in this incident. Grounds exist for their arrest and police are actively searching for them.
