Cornwall Community Police Service Blotter for April 4, 2018

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman of no-fixed-address was arrested on April 3rd, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for communicating with her ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on March 30th, 2018, the woman took money from her ex-girlfriend’s bank account without permission and police were contacted to investigate. On April 3rd, 2018, a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the woman was in custody on unrelated charges. She was charged accordingly and remained in custody for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Christina Lafrance, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on April 3rd, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 3rd, 2018 the woman attended a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted to investigate. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.



CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 56-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 3rd, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of probation for contacting and being within 100 metres of his ex-girlfriend, attending a certain location, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 1st, 2018 the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence despite his conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 3rd, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

There were 38 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
