THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 17th, 2018 and charged with threats. It is alleged on August 27th, 2018 the man made threats to harm his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On September 17th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE (CHOKING)

Cornwall, ON – Karl Quesnel-Sefcsik, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on September 17th, 2018 and charged with assault and overcome resistance (choking). As a result of an ongoing investigation where he was charged with sexual assault, further investigation revealed the man allegedly assaulted and choked a 14-year-old girl known to him. On September 17th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 27th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 17th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for attending a certain address and for contacting and being within 100 metres of her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on August 7th, 2018, the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence despite her conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 17th, 2018 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.




WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Justin Lalonde, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on September 17th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 17th, 2018 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON, RESIST ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Lancaster youth was arrested on September 17th, 2018 and charged with carrying a concealed weapon (knife), resist arrest and breach of recognizance for possessing a weapon and failing to remain in his residence. It is alleged on September 17th, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service located the youth away from his residence, despite his conditions. He was taken into custody, at which time a brief struggle ensued and the youth was found to be in possession of a knife. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Mark Tyo, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on September 18th, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for attending a certain address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 18th, 2018 the man attended a certain address, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
