West End Robber Finally Charged by Cornwall Community Police Service 110118

WARRANT, ROBBERY WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF BREAK-IN INSTRUMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Throughout the month of October, the Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) received multiple reports of break & enters to commercial & retail businesses within the City of Cornwall. An extensive investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division, resulting in the following arrest:

Shaine Robertson, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on October 31st, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with the following:

• Robbery with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Disguise with intent x 6
• Break and enter x 6
• Possession of break-in instrument x 2
• Breach of probation x 7 (failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged throughout the month of October, the man forced his way into multiple businesses in the City of Cornwall; on 5 occasions concealing his identity, and on 2 occasions using an object to gain entry. On October 24th, 2018, the man allegedly attended a Vincent Massey Drive business, concealing his identity, and demanded money while brandishing a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 31st, 2018, police located the man. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.




WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Bradley, 42, of no fixed address was arrested on October 31st, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on July 12th, 2018 for theft charges. It is further alleged in July 2018, the man removed merchandise from a Second Street and Ninth Street store, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 31st, 2018, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Liam Cooney, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on October 31st, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of psilocybin (mushrooms). It is alleged on October 31st, 2018, the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Cumberland Street and Fifteenth Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of psilocybin (mushrooms). He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 13th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 31st, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his girlfriend. It is alleged the man breached his conditions and attended his girlfriend’s residence on October 31st, 2018. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 31st, 2018 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man caused multiple holes in the walls and damaged a door and towel rack in the residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 31st, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by a curfew. It is alleged the youth was found in breach of his curfew on October 31st, 2018 and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
