#CCPS Finally Admit Sydney Street Issue – Sexual Assault Investigation 111318

Cornwall Ontario – After several days of silence the Cornwall Police are announcing that the action on Sydney Street near the back end of Giant Tiger in Cornwall is an alleged sexual assault.

Police searched the large field into the night including the use of blue lights looking for residues of an interaction.

The bigger question is why hide this from the public for nearly 3 days?

UPDATE FROM NOVEMBER 11TH INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – On November 11th, 2018, the CCPS were called to investigate an alleged sexual assault in an area between Sixth Street/Seventh Street and Sydney Street/Adolphus Street. At this time, police believe this to be an isolated incident. The investigation is still in its early stages and as such, further details will be provided when they become available. 1. IMHO it wasn’t hidden from the public. Unless people were living in a cave they knew what was going on. Sometimes investigations must be started before info is released to the public. It isn’t the first time this has happened with a police service and it won’t be the last.

Sorry Hugger. I deal with quite a few police forces. Generally they are proactive on events such as this. For example we had the CCPS NOT REPORT a submachine gun stolen from the armoury. While investigations are important a simple detail of a call does not impede that. IE, the CCPS is investigating a SUDDEN DEATH, or SEXUAL ASSAULT, or ROBBERY…etc. It’s not rocket science and as we’re paying nearly 3 times the cost of the OPP in SD&G we are owed some clean answers in a timely fashion.

  4. I cannot even count the number of times that I went through that lot to go to CCVS and back home again. There was an old railroad house there in the past and a few girls from my elementary school lived there. The past was the best and we didn’t have the crimes like today. I would love to go back in time the way things used to be and I have said that all along and never said different.
