Laundry Machine Thief Nabbed in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS 111918

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 16th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment x 2. It is alleged the man repeatedly attended his ex-wife’s residence and communicated with her, despite being warned not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 16th, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 27th, 2018. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CAUSE DISTURBANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 17th, 2018 and charged with causing a disturbance. It is alleged the intoxicated woman was causing a disturbance outside of her ex-boyfriend’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Corry Crowder, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on November 17th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 x 2 and breach of probation x 2 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 2nd and November 15th, 2018, the man attended a Marlborough Street gas bar and fueled his vehicle, making no attempt to pay for the fuel as he left the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 17th, 2018, police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 18th, 2018.



IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Mark Lafave, 59, of Cornwall was arrested on November 18th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Emma Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 4th, 2018.

THEFT UNDER $5000, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Mitchell, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on November 18th, 2018 and charged with the following:

• Mischief under $5000
• Theft under $5000
• Breach of probation x 3 (for failing to report a change of address and failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of undertaking x 3 (for failing to abide by curfew, failing to report a change of address, and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged during the early morning hours on August 14th, 2018, the man entered two apartment building laundry rooms and damaged washing machines in order to remove a quantity of money from the machines. On November 18th, 2018, police located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
