SD&G #OPP Charge CHRISTOPHER SABOURIN After Fleeing South Stormont Break In 020419

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 161 calls for service from Friday February 1, 2019 to Monday February 4, 2019.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             20 Motor Vehicle collision

–             14 calls for Police assistance

–             3- 911 calls

–             19 traffic complaints

–             8 traffic hazards

–             3 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–             3 Domestic disputes

–             4 thefts

–             3 suspicious activity call

–             1 family dispute

–             4 warrant calls            

–               4 assault calls

–             2 mental health calls

–             4 sudden death investigation

–             3 harassment calls

–             

ASSAULT- DOMESTIC

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On February 2, 2019 at approximately 2:16am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his wife and damaged property within the home. 

A 29-year-old male of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Mischief – under $5000

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on February 19, 2019.

CHARGES LAID RELATING TO BREAK IN

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On February 3, 2019, at approximately 1:15am Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence in South Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that the culprit attempted to enter the residence and was confronted by the homeowner. The suspect fled the residence and had attended other properties in the area. Police located the male a short distance away.

Christopher SABOURIN (27) of Cornwall, Ontario was located and arrested and is charged with;

–             Break and Enter

–             Trespassing by Night ( 3 counts)

–             Fail to comply with conditions of a Probation Order

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall February 4, 2019.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On February 3, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– February 3 2019 – 5:32am (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped traveling 133km/h (80km/h zone)(County Road 34). Female driver (62) from: South Glengarry, Ontario.
