Ottawa Man Charged After Throwing Booze Bottle @ #CCPS Officer in Cornwall 041119

ASSAULT POLICE WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT POLICE, THEFT UNDER $5000, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ali Mire, 32, of Ottawa was arrested on April 10th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Assault police with a weapon
• Assault police
• Theft under $5000
• Threats
• Breach of probation (for being outside his residence with alcohol in his body and for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on April 10th, 2019, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed bottles of liquor, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and located the intoxicated man, at which time he threw a bottle at a police officer and made threats to harm the officer. The man was taken into custody and later spat on another officer. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000 X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Racine, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on April 10th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 x 2, and breach of probation x 4 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 7th, 2019, the man attended a Sydney Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. It is further alleged on April 10th, 2019, the man attended a Cornwall Square business and again removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. During the investigation on April 10th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.
