HOCKEY CRUNCH – Marner Notches 2 Goals as Leafs Jump Bruins in Game 1 041219

My boy Mitch Marner showed no signs of pressure in the Leafs 4-1 win in Boston.

He scored 2 goals( one by penalty shot while the Leafs were short handed) and even laid on some meat. The Leafs were flying and using their depth speed to put pressure on the Bruins.

Freddie Anderson kept their momentum going by slamming the door shut while facing 37 shots and now home ice advantage is lost to Boston.

John Tavares and William Nylander rounded out the scoring for Toronto.

While many pundits have picked the Bruins in this series this writer has said it’d be the Leafs to win and they started out right in game one.

Go Mitch Go!

In other games on the night, no surprises as the Caps doubled Carolina 4-2 and Old Man Mike Smith shut out the Avalance as the Flames won 4-0!

  1. Good for the Leafs. That’s about my extent of my support for them. With the Sens and Habs out I have no interest in the playoffs.
