Man Charged w Sexual Assault of 6 Year Old in Cornwall #CCPS #CPS Blotter 052419

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on December 21st, 2018, the man sexually assaulted a 17-year-old youth known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On May 23rd, 2019 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as the man was a youth at the time of the incident and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 71-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking x 2 for contacting his ex-common-law wife and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 5th, 2019, the man contacted his ex-common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. On May 23rd, 2019 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 13th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, INVITATION TO SEXUAL TOUCHING, SEXUAL EXPLOITATION

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Sexual assault on a person under 16
• Sexual interference
• Invitation to sexual touching
• Sexual exploitation

It is alleged between 2010 and 2012, when the man was approximately 15 to 16 years of age, he sexually assaulted a 6-year-old family member. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 23rd, 2019 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as the man was a youth at the time of the incident and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Theft under $5000
• Breach of undertaking (for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of probation (for possessing drugs and failing to keep the peace)
• Possession of crack cocaine

It is alleged on May 18th, 2019, the man attended a Second Street business, despite his conditions, and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and located the man on May 23rd, 2019. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment, as well as breach of probation for contacting his ex-girlfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 17th, 2019, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On May 23rd, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James Masson, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 8th, 2019 the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 23rd, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on July 2nd, 2019.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to sign in to police. He was also charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged on April 13th, 2019 the man was outside of his residence during the hours of his curfew and an investigation ensued. On May 23rd, 2019, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jason Keeler, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with five counts of breach of undertaking for consuming alcohol, failing to notify police of a change of address, and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter, police learned the man had breached his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 27th, 2019.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man of Longueuil, QC was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted his girlfriend, despite being warned not to by police. On May 23rd, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Julie Ladue, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for operating a motor vehicle contrary to her conditions. It is alleged on May 23rd, 2019, while stopped at the Port of Entry, the woman was observed operating a motor vehicle in breach of her conditions and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Patrick Timbro, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2019 and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him, he assaulted the man using an edged weapon and police were contacted. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 11th, 2019.
