Senior Gets Charged in Cornwall for Reporting Ex Missing When She Wasn’t #CPS 053019

FAIL TO APPEAR PRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Nicole Swift, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on May 29th, 2019 and charged with failing to appear for prints, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman failed to appear for prints on May 23rd, 2019 and an investigation ensued. On May 29th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 13th, 2019.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 76-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 29th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man contacted his common-law wife, despite his conditions, and further contacted police to falsely report her as missing. During the investigation, warrants were issued for his arrest. On May 29th, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Longueuil, QC man was arrested on May 29th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on May 25th, 2019, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend through text messages and police were contacted. On May 29th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
