ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 18th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon, threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged the youth attempted to assault another youth known to her with a knife, as well as made threats to harm the other youth. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 18th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT, DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Goderre, 28, of Ottawa was arrested on July 18th, 2019 and charged with take motor vehicle without consent, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as failure to stop after an accident. It is alleged the man had taken a motor vehicle from someone known to him without their permission and was operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner. The man was in a motor vehicle collision in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Cornwall Centre Road, at which time he fled the area on foot. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was later taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 22nd, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 18th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with his common-law-wife, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. On July 18th, 2019 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
