DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 8th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking x 3 for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within 100 metres of her, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 7th, 2019, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted. On August 8th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 8th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on August 6th, 2019 for a domestic assault charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 8th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Deborah Cooper, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on August 8th, 2019 and charged with over 80. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Third Street East and St. Felix Street and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 27th, 2019.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old and 16-year-old youth, both of Cornwall, were arrested on August 8th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the youths attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youths were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 8th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking x 5 for contacting her ex-boyfriend, being within a certain distance of him, and attending his residence. It is alleged the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence, despite her conditions, and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dayton Sheney, 19, of St. Andrew’s West was arrested on August 9th, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged during a traffic stop during the early morning hours of August 9th, 2019, police located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
