Man Charged After Pointing Pellet Gun @ Delivery Person in Cornwall POLICE BLOTTER 090919 #CPS

POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, PERSONATION TO AVOID ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marcus Vezina, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on September 6th, 2019 and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as personation to avoid arrest. He was also charged with breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence, failing to reside at a certain address, possessing a weapon, and for consuming drugs. It is alleged while responding to an unrelated matter on September 6th, 2019, police located the man in a residence contrary to his conditions, after having consumed drugs. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a knife. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Dussiaume, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court in April 2018 and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On September 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Todd Desnoyers, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on September 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court in April 2019 for an obstruct offence and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On September 6th, 2019, he was taken into custody during a traffic stop. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POINTING A FIREARM, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Jason Barkley, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on September 6th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged the man pointed a BB gun at an individual conducting a delivery and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 10th, 2019.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Hodgins, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on September 7th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man took several parts from a bicycle that did not belong to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 22nd, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 7th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Domestic assault
• Domestic mischief
• Forcible confinement
• Possession for the purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance – Xanax
• Possession for the purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance – Hydromorphone
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace
• Breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace

It is alleged during an argument with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her, damaged her phone, as well as prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody on September 7th, 2019, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of Xanax and hydromorphone pills. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jillian King, 32, and Ernest Corbiere, 43, both of Cornwall, were arrested on September 8th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. Ernest Corbiere was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the individuals both attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. They were subsequently stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 24th, 2019.

RESIST ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Deruchie, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on September 9th, 2019 and charged with resist arrest. He was also charged with three counts of breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence, failing to reside at a certain place, as well as to actively participate in a specified program. It is alleged the man had breached his conditions, and failed to stop for police when requested. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 8th, 2019 and charged with four counts of breach of recognizance for contacting and being within 100 metres of his girlfriend, failing to reside at a certain address, and failing to notify a change of address to police. It is alleged on September 6th, 2019, the man was found in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, it was further learned the man had changed his address without notifying police. On September 8th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
