WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Vivyen Morin, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2010 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on August 8th, 2019 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On September 10th, 2019, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

DRUG WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – On September 10th, 2019, members of the Cornwall Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a Walton Street residence. As a result of the investigation, a shotgun, a machete, along with a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine were seized from the residence. A quantity of Canadian and American currency was also seized.

Michael Moran, 37, Rita Charlebois, 64, and Carley Winters, 25 were arrested and charged with the following:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
• Knowledge of possession of an unauthorized firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
• Possession of ammunition for a dangerous purpose
• Careless storage of a firearm
• Careless storage of ammunition
• Possession of property obtained by crime

Michael Moran was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace, while Carley Winters was also charged with breach of undertaking for possessing drugs and drug trafficking equipment. They were both held for a bail hearing. Rita Charlebois was released to appear in court on October 8th, 2019.

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, THREATS X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Michael Moran, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on September 10th, 2019 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, threats x 2, and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area of Prince Arthur Street and First Street East. While stopped in his vehicle, the man is alleged to have threatened to kill and damage the residence of a man he did not know. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Later on September 10th, the man was arrested as a result of the previously mentioned drug warrant. He was advised of the additional charges and remained in custody pending a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC BREACHES

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman and a 23-year-old Cornwall man were both arrested on September 11th, 2019 and charged with domestic breaches for contacting each other and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on September 11th, 2019, police were called to a disturbance, at which time they located the man and woman in the company of one another, despite both being on conditions of no contact. They were both taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify both victims in the matter.

There were 56 calls for service in the last 24 hours (8:00 am yesterday morning to 8:00 am today).
