21 Yr Old Cornwall Man Charged w Sex Assault of 14 Yr Old Girl POLICE BLOTTER 092019 #CPS

PUBLIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 19th, 2019 and charged with public mischief. It is alleged in June 2019, the woman contacted police to report that her ex-husband had breached his conditions by having contact with her. An investigation ensued and the incident was later determined to be unfounded. On September 19th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 15th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, INVITATION TO SEXUAL TOUCHING TO PERSON UNDER 16

Cornwall, ON – Zackary Deschamps, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 19th, 2019 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, as well as invitation to sexual touching to a person under 16. It is alleged between September 2-3, 2019, the man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl who was known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On September 19th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 19th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting and being within 100 metres of his ex-girlfriend. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 12th, 2019, the man had contacted his ex-girlfriend and a police investigation ensued. On September 19th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jamin Crowder, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on September 20th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court for a fraud offence. The man also allegedly used a stolen bank card to make purchases at a Marlborough Street convenience store on June 25th, 2019 and an investigation ensued. On September 20th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
