A Full Week of Crime in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER Nov 4 – 8 2019 #CPS

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Bradley Legue, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on November 7th, 2019 and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so on November 7th. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 17th, 2019.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joseph Scott Kenny, 31, of North Glengarry was arrested on November 7th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address to police and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between October and November, the man changed his address and did not notify police, despite his conditions. On November 7th, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 12th, 2019.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Alexis McDougall, 37, of Cornwall and Daniel Wattie, 38, of Cornwall were both arrested on November 7th, 2019 and each charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 5th, 2019, the individuals attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 7th, 2019, both individuals were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 7th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and threats. It is alleged on November 7th, 2019, during an argument with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her and made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Mohanjeet Gurm, 28, of Scarborough, ON was arrested on November 6th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 27th, 2019 for a fraud offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 57-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 6th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting his girlfriend and for consuming alcohol. The man is alleged to have been in the company of his girlfriend while intoxicated on November 5th and an investigation ensued. On November 6th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 7th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument with her ex-boyfriend on November 5th, 2019, the woman assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop on November 7th, 2019. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Tyanna Tessier, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on November 5th, 2019 and charged with fraud under $5000, utter forged document, and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged between July 28 and 29, 2018, the woman was in possession of stolen cheques and fraudulently deposited the cheques to obtain a quantity of cash. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 5th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 16th, 2019.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 5th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an argument on September 30th, 2019, the man assaulted his common-law-wife and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody on November 5th, 2019. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – James Arow, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on November 5th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 12th, 2019.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 5th, 2019 and charged with five counts of breach of recognizance for the following:

• Failing to reside at a certain address
• Failing to notify police of a change of address
• Contacting her boyfriend
• Being within 100 metres of her boyfriend
• Being outside of her residence with alcohol in her body

It is alleged while police were responding to an unrelated matter, police located the intoxicated woman in the company of her boyfriend, despite her conditions. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Servais, 33, of Cornwall, was arrested on November 4th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on September 23rd, 2019 and failed to attend court on October 8th, 2019. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. On November 4th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man of Huntington, QC was arrested on November 4th, 2019 and charged with three counts of domestic assault and one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between October and November, the man assaulted his girlfriend on three occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 4th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019. THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Maurice Leger, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on November 4th, 2019 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged on November 1st, the man made threats to harm a man he did not know. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 4th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Marc Leroux-Forget, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on November 4th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged on September 26th, 2019, the man assaulted a woman known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On November 4th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 28th, 2019.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, On – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 1st, 2019 and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an argument with her boyfriend on November 1st, the woman assaulted him using an edged-weapon. The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, On – Richard Marini, 55, of Cornwall was arrested on November 2nd, 2019 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by a curfew. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on November 2nd, police located the man outside of his residence, despite his curfew. He was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 2nd, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged on October 15th, the youth assaulted another youth who he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. On November 2nd, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SHOPLIFTING X 3, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James Quinn, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on November 2nd, 2019 and charged with three counts of shoplifting and two counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on three occasions on November 2nd the man attended two Second Street East businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CAUSE A DISTURANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on November 3rd, 2019 and charged with causing a disturbance and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter, the woman caused a disturbance by way of yelling and screaming while at a Third Street address. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, On – A 56-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 3rd, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, threats, forcible confinement, overcome resistance (choking), and breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged between November 2nd and 3rd, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend, choked her, and prevented her from leaving her residence. The man also allegedly made threats to kill the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 3rd, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, On – Jason Patenaude, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on November 3rd, 2019 and charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle, while prohibited from doing so, in the area of Eleventh Street and Sydney Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 17th, 2019.
