#OPP ID Mallorytown Family That Died in October 112219

OPP INVESTIGATING MULTIPLE DEATHS NEAR MALLORYTOWN

Names released

(LEEDS, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC) are investigating the death of people who were located at a home in Front of Yonge Township on October 11, 2019.

The deceased have now been confirmed to be David ZEMEL, age 63; Grace ZEMEL, age 92, and Abraham ZEMEL, age 91. All were residents of the home on County Road-5, near Mallorytown. A family dog was also located deceased at the home.

They were located by OPP members conducting a wellness check after being contacted by members of the family.

Officers of the Leeds County OPP, Leeds County OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Daniel Nadeau of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing their investigation with the OCC.

The OPP wants to assure members of the community that that there is no threat to public safety. The causes of death are not suspicious in nature as confirmed by the OCC but came about as a result of a cascading set of tragic circumstances.
