More Domestic Assaults in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER #CPS 121719

USE OF CREDIT CARD, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, USE OF CREDIT CARD DATA, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Robert Thibeault, 35, and Robert Hart, 37, both of Cornwall, were arrested on December 16th, 2019 and charged with the following:

Robert Thibeault:

• Unauthorized use of credit card data x 2
• Possession of property obtained by crime x 2
• Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)

Robert Hart:

• Unauthorized use of credit card
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on December 9th, 2019, the men used a bank card that did not belong to them and made multiple purchases at convenience stores. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 16th, 2019, both men were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 14th, 2020.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 16th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Assault with a weapon
• Domestic assault
• Domestic mischief
• Threats x 2
• Breach of undertaking (for contacting his girlfriend)

It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on December 16th, 2019, the man assaulted her and threatened to kill her while holding a knife. The man also allegedly damaged her phone and threatened to damage various items in the residence. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Whitney Thompson, 31, of Akwesasne was arrested on December 16th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on December 11th, 2019, the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 16th, 2019, the woman was stopped at the port of entry and police were contacted. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 14th, 2020.
