Warrant Leads to Meth, Heroin, Coke, & Opioid Bust in Cornwall POLICE BLOTTER #CPS 011720

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jodi Bird, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged during the early morning hours on January 16th, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Thirteenth Street, at which time the vehicle struck a sign. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 16th, 2020 and charged with breach of recognizance for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on January 15th, 2020, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On January 16th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME X 5

Cornwall, ON – Terry Russell, 25, of Newington was arrested on January 16th, 2020 and charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on November 9th, 2019 the man was in possession of a stolen utility trailer, two snow blowers, tires and a barbecue and an investigation ensued. On January 16th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 18th, 2020.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 16th, 2020 and charged with domestic assault, as well as two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. It is alleged on January 16th, the man attended his girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, and assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Saul Alonso, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for consuming alcohol and being outside of a premise that serves or sells alcohol. It is alleged on January 16th, 2020, the man was located outside of an LCBO and was consuming alcohol. The man was spotted by an off-duty officer of the Cornwall Police Service and was subsequently taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING X 5, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Bradley Legue, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2020 on the strength of warrants for breaching his probation and failing to attend court. The man was located by police on January 16th, 2020 and was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants. While in custody, the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of a crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, Hydromorphone pills and Dilauded pills, as well as a quantity of Canadian currency.

He was subsequently charged with the following and held for a bail hearing:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal meth
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking Hydromorphone
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking Dilauded
• Possession of property obtained by crime

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Kimberly Cook, 24, of Akwesasne was arrested on January 16th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on December 13th, 2019, the woman attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as she left the store. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 16th, 2020, police located the woman, who had just left a Brookdale Avenue business with merchandise she had allegedly made no attempt to pay for. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 13th, 2020.
