SD&G #OPP Round Up for February 18, 2020

SD&G OPP NEWS

(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 220 calls for service from Thursday February 13, 2020 to Tuesday February 18, 2020.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             29 motor vehicle collisions

–             17 calls for Police assistances

–             3- 911 calls

–             24 traffic complaints

–             13 traffic hazards

–             4 Traffic enforcements

–              6 Domestic disputes

–             5 thefts

–             4 suspicious activity calls

–              6 family disputes           

–             4 mental health calls

–             8 alarms

–             3 Assault calls

–             1 threat call

–             1 Fraud call

–             3 Mischief calls

–             3 neighbour disputes

–             3 RIDE Checks

–             1 sudden death investigation

–             1 weapon call

–             4 Animal complaints

–             2 Landlord Tenant act calls

–             2 trespass to property calls

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(NORTH GLENGARRY, ON) – On February 14, 2020 at approximately 9:26 p.m, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 45 in North Glengarry Township.

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Andre ST-DENIS (age 59) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria March 4, 2020.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS – DOMESTIC

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On February 15, 2020 at approximately 8:30 a.m, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of female breaching her previous release conditions. Officers confirmed the female was in contravention of her previous release conditions in South Dundas Township.

A 28- year-old female of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with conditions of an Undertaking – Four Counts

The accused was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall February 16th 2020.

ASSAULT – DOMESTIC

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On February 16, 2020 at approximately 6:45 p.m Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had assaulted and threatened the victim.

A 59-year-old accused of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Uttering Threats

– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 18, 2020.

SHOPLIFT

(NORTH DUNDAS) – On February 17, 2020 at approximately 1:24 p.m, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a theft at a Business on Bank Street, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a youth had removed several item from the store.

A 17 – year-old from North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

–             Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting ( three counts)

–             Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (Four counts)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice on February 18, 2020 in Cornwall.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON) – On February 17, 2020 at approximately 10:22 a.m, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop following a traffic complaint on Highway 401 in South Dundas Township.

Investigation revealed that the adult driver was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Erik BENNASSER (age 36) of Toronto, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs – CCC 320.14(1)(a)

– Drive while under suspension – Highway Traffic Act

– Possess more than one licence – HTA

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg March 3, 2020.
