Vicious Weekend of Crime in Cornwall Ontario Including CCH Hospital Rampage POLICE BLOTTER 030220 #CPS

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Sawyer, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2020 and charged with assault. It is alleged on February 28th, 2020, he assaulted a man he did not know and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ADMINISTER NOXIOUS SUBSTANCE, MISCHIEF OVER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Thompson, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2020 and charged with administering a noxious substance and mischief over $5000. It is alleged while at the hospital on February 28th, 2020, the man damaged various pieces of hospital equipment and sprayed a fire extinguisher into a nurse’s station. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Ottawa youth was arrested on February 28th, 2020 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on February 28th, during an argument with her boyfriend, the youth assaulted him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT

Cornwall, ON – Brittany Lapierre, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80, as well as failure to stop after an accident. It is alleged on February 28th, 2020, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, when she struck another vehicle in the area of Cumberland Street and Third Street and failed to remain at the scene. The woman was located shortly thereafter, and was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Katlen Moore, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 25th and 26th, the woman attended two local businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the stores on either occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 29th, 2020, police located the woman and took her into custody. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Gordon O’Neil, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on February 29th, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Ottawa man was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged between 2014 and 2017, the man assaulted two of his children, on one occasion striking the youth with a bottle, and police were contacted to investigate. On February 29th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT AN INDICTABLE OFFENCE, THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF COCAINE

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Bourdeau, 44, of Williamstown was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000, conspiracy to commit an indicatable offence, and possession of a schedule I substance, being cocaine. It is alleged on February 29th, 2020, the man attended a Vincent Massey Drive business and conspired with another individual to commit a theft. The man removed a piece of merchandise, making no attempt to pay for it as he left the store with the assistance of the other individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 29th, 2020, police located the man and took him into custody, at which time he was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE

Cornwall, ON – Edward Ayoub, 42, and Jacques Chartrand, 64, both from Cornwall, were arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with possession of a schedule I substance, being cocaine. It is alleged while police were conducting a traffic stop for an unrelated matter on February 29th, 2020, the men were both found in possession of a quantity of cocaine. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Racine, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with five counts of theft under $5000, as well as 15 counts of breach of probation for attending a certain business and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged throughout the month of February, the man attended numerous local businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores on any occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 29th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 9th, 2020.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 29th, 2020 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument with her ex-common-law husband, the woman assaulted him and damaged his glasses. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 26th, 2020. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ROBBERY, SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Ingola, 24, Chloe Dumond, 20, and Jonathan Carriere, 23, all of Cornwall, were arrested on March 1st, 2020 and charged with the following:

Kevin Ingola:
• Robbery with violence
• Theft under $5000
• Breach of probation x 6 (for failing to abide by his curfew, failing to live at an approved residence, failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of undertaking (for failing to notify police of a change of address)

Cloe Dumont:
• Robbery with violence
• Theft under $5000

Jonathan Carriere:
• Robbery with violence
• Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on February 24th, 2020, Kevin Ingola and Chloe Dumond attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. It is further alleged during the early morning hours on March 1st, the three individuals assaulted a delivery person and took the delivery order without providing payment for the food. Police were contacted and took the three individuals into custody. They were charged accordingly and each held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Charles-Simon Carriere, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on March 1st, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on March 1st, 2020, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug in the area of Second Street and Marlborough Street and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12th, 2020.

BREAK AND ENTER, ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE, KIDNAPPING, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT AN INDICTABLE OFFENCE, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man, along with two female youths, 16 and 17 years of age, were arrested on March 1st, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Break and enter
• Robbery with violence
• Kidnapping
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Threats

It is alleged on March 1st, 2020, the individuals forced their way into a Lefebvre Avenue residence and took a 17-year-old youth known to them and his dog against his will. The individuals further made threats to harm the youth, as well as his girlfriend and dog. The man was transported to another residence, where he fled from the individuals and contacted police. Police located the three individuals and took them into custody. The dog was recovered by police and safely returned to the victim unharmed. It should be noted the victim did not sustain any injuries. The three individuals were taken into custody and charged accordingly. The 20-year-old man was held for a bail hearing, and the two youths were released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Morgan McCreary, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on March 1st, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of probation for contacting a certain person and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 1st, 2020, the woman was in the company of a certain person, despite her conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 9th, 2020.
