Counterfeit Money & Crazies in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER 040320 #CPS

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 2nd, 2020 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2020 the man attended his ex-common-law’s residence and damaged the door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 11th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Murray, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on April 2nd, 2020 and charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and for being at a Ninth Street store despite his conditions. He was also charged with theft under $5000 and additional breaches for removing merchandise from a Thirteenth Street store. It is alleged on April 2nd,2020 the man attended a Ninth Street store despite his conditions and police were contacted to investigate. He was located during a traffic stop and it was learned that he was also wanted for a theft at Thirteenth Street business. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 16th, 2020.

POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT MONEY, UTTERING COUNTERFEIT MONEY, BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – Braydon Harnum, 21 of no fixed address was arrested on April 2nd, 2020 and charged with possession of counterfeit money, uttering counterfeit money, breach probation x4 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man attended the Cornwall Square on March 10th, 2020 and purchased merchandise using counterfeit money. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 2nd, 2020 the Brockville Police Service located the man in Brockville, took him into custody on Cornwall’s grounds and released him to attend court on June 11th, 2020.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 2nd, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged during 2019 the man threw a coffee at his wife and on two occasions threatened to harm her. On April 2nd, 2020 police attended a Seventh Street address for an unrelated mater. During this time police were notified of the incidents and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT POLICE, RESIST ARREST, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Erica Brazeau, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on April 2nd, 2020 and charged with three counts of assault police, two counts of threats and resist arrest. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2020 police attended an Augustus Street residence for an intoxicated person’s call. Once on scene police attempted to take the woman into custody at which point the woman resisted arrest and kicked an officer. She also attempted to spit on another officer and made threats to harm officer’s families. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

There were 45 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is requesting public assistance regarding a break and enter that occurred at a Cumberland Street business on March 19th, 2020.
