Drug Bust Nails 6 in Cornwall Ontario – #CPS Fentanyl, Crack, Coke 050520

DRUG WARRANTS RESULT IN SIX ARRESTS AND THE SEIZURE OF OVER $40,000 IN DRUGS AND CURRENCY

Cornwall, ON – On the morning of May 1st, 2020, members of the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Street Crime Unit, the Cornwall Emergency Response Team, and the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed two drug warrants simultaneously at a Third Street residence and a Pitt Street residence.

During the search, police located a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, illicit cannabis, as well as a quantity of Canadian currency. The combined street value of the drugs and currency is estimated to be over $40,000.00.
As a result of the investigation, six individuals were taken into custody and charged with the following:

Peter Blake, 29, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of illicit cannabis
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Failure to comply with release order x 2 (for failing to reside at an approved residence and possessing a cell phone)

Jean-Marc Guindon, 23, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of illicit cannabis
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

Anthony Logan, 30, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of illicit cannabis
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace)

William Brown, 36, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

Natasha Lalonde, 35, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

Samantha MacIntyre, 30, of Cornwall:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine

All of the individuals were held in custody to await a bail hearing, with the exception of Samantha MacIntyre, who was released to appear in court on July 23rd, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 1st, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during the month of March, 2020 the man communicated with his ex-girlfriend despite his conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was located on May 1st, 2020, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim.

MISCHIEF, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 1st, 2020 and charged with mischief under $5000 and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged on May 1st, 2020 the man damaged his girlfriend’s door and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody during the investigation and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old North Lancaster woman was arrested on May 2nd, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on May 2nd, 2020 the woman threatened her common-law husband with a bat and damaged a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 21st, 2020. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Stephen Donnelly, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on May 2nd, 2020 and charged with threats. It is alleged on May 2nd, 2020 the man threatened to shoot several people known to him and police were contacted to investigate. The man was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Gagnon, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on May 3rd, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged in the early morning hours of May 3rd, 2020 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Seventh Street and York Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 14th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Mathew Brown, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on May 3rd, 2020 and on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 20th, 2020 for a fraud charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The man was located on May 3rd, 2020, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 3rd, 2020 and charged with breach of a judicial release order as well as a probation order for communicating with someone he has conditions not to associate with and for being with that person. It is alleged on May 3rd, 2020 police attended a McConnell Avenue residence for a disturbance and found the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF, THEFT OF MAIL, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Deevy, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on May 4th, 2020 and charged with mischief under $5000 and theft of mail. He was also charged with breach of release order for having a weapon in his possession. It is alleged on April 4th, 2020 police attended a Kirkman Court address for a mischief complaint and once on scene found the man had broken some of the homeowner’s property with a metal pipe. He was taken into custody and was in possession of someone else’s mail. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

There were 164 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).

ASSAULT, BREACH 

            Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 30th, 2020 and charged with assault and breach of a release order for associating with someone he has conditions not to associate with. It is alleged on April 29th, 2020 the youth assaulted another youth known to him and police were contacted to investigate. The youth was located on April 30th, 2020, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH 

            Cornwall, ON – On April 30th, 2020 police attended a Kirkman court address for a disturbance call and found the following persons in breach of their conditions: 

Luc Cayen, 51 of Cornwall was taken into custody and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with someone he has conditions not to communicate with. He was released to appear in court on July 30th, 2020. 

Taylor Barkhouse, 28 of Cornwall was taken into custody and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with someone she has conditions not to communicate with and for failing to keep the peace. She was released to appear in court on July 28th, 2020. 

Trevor Wililams, 31 was taken into custody for breaching a conditional sentence order for being outside his residence. He was held for a bail hearing.
