BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Long Sault youth was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with break and enter, as well as five counts of breach of youth probation for failing to keep the peace, failing to abide by a curfew, and possessing weapons. It is alleged during the early morning hours on May 21st, 2020, the youth attended the Marina 200, entered a boat that did not belong to him, and removed property. Police were contacted and took the youth into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of two edged objects. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by a curfew. He was also charged with breach of youth probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 9th, 2020, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man was not present at his residence, despite his curfew, and an investigation ensued. On May 21st, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as his conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, IMPAIRED, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Tilley, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with three counts of operation while prohibited, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 21st, 2020, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so, and while impaired by drugs. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 11th, 2020.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH, OBSTRUCT JUSTICE

Cornwall, ON – Leanne Duff, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Assault with a weapon
• Assault
• Threats x 2
• Breach of release order x 5 (for contacting and being within a certain distance of two individuals and possessing a weapon)
• Obstruct justice x 2
It is alleged on May 21st, 2020, during an altercation with two people known to her, the woman assaulted one of the individuals with a glass object and made threats to harm the other individual. It is further alleged on two occasions, the woman attempted to obstruct an unrelated, ongoing investigation. Police attended and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with four counts of breach of probation for contacting his girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her, failing to notify a change of address, and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of undertaking for contacting and being within a certain distance of his girlfriend and failing to notify a change of address. It is alleged on May 21st, 2020, police were called to a disturbance and located the man in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ARSON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – David Schulte, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2020 and charged with arson and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 21st, 2020, the man was responsible for causing a fire to a building in the area of Montreal Road and Boundary Road. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on July 28th, 2020.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

There were 47 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8:00 am yesterday to 8:00 am today).

DRUG WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Dylan Jarvis, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Possession of cocaine
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Flight from police
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
• Drive while prohibited
• Breach of probation for being in possession of drugs and failing to keep the peace

On May 20th, 2020 members of the Cornwall Police Service’s Street Crime Unit assisted by the Emergency Response Team executed a warrant at an Albert Street residence. During this time police attempted to stop Jarvis who drove a vehicle in a dangerous manner. He was taken into custody moments later, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. As a result of the warrant a quantity of cocaine, Canadian currency and vehicles were seized by police.

CHILD ABANDONING

Cornwall, ON – On the morning of May 19, 2020, police were contacted concerning the wellbeing of two young children in the area of Fourth Street West and Bedford Street. An investigation ensued, resulting in a 22-year-old woman and 24-year-old man subsequently being taken into custody and charged with abandoning a child. They were both released from police custody to appear in court on August 25th, 2020. Their names were not released in order to protect the identity of the involved children.

MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Harley Dumais, 18 and a 17-year-old youth both from Cornwall were arrested on May 19th, 2020 and charged with mischief. Dumais was also charged with breach of undertaking for attending the Cornwall Square. It is alleged on May 19th, 20920 the two damaged a pickup truck at the Cornwall Square and police were contacted to investigate. Both were located in the area, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The 17-year-old’s name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Four youths ages between 14-16 have been arrested and charged with 8 counts of mischief. In the early morning hours of May 8th, 2020 several vehicles were damaged throughout the city and an investigation ensued. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Divisions, 4 youths were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER $5000, DANGEROUS DRIVING, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Gail Walker, 63 of Cornwall was arrested on May 15th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000, dangerous driving and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on May 5th, 2020 the woman attended a Second Street East store removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the item as she left the store. The Loss Prevention officer attempted to stop her at which point she drove her motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in his direction. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 15th, 2020 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 30th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 15th, 2020 and charged with breach of a release order for being outside his residence and for communicating with someone he has conditions not to communicate with. It’s alleged the man was found to be in breach of his conditions when police were investigating an unrelated matter on May 14th, 2020. On May 15th, 2020 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Monette, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on May 15th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on May 15th, 2020 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 11th, 2020.

POINTING A FIREARM, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UNAUTHORISED POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Trent Boudrias, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on May 15th, 2020 and charged with the following:
• Pointing a firearm
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
• Assault with a weapon
• Uttering threats to cause death
It is alleged on May 8th, 2020 the man pointed a firearm at another man known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On May 15th, 2020 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 28th, 2020.


BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, ROBBERY
Cornwall, ON – Trevor Williams, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on May 15th, 2020 and charged with the following:
• Break and Enter
• Assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Uttering threats
• Robbery
It is alleged on May 15th, 2020 the man forced his way into another man’s apartment and assaulted him. It’s also alleged he struck the man on the head with and object, removed some of his property and threatened to harm him at a later time. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 16th, 2020 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on May 16th, 2020 the woman struck her husband and police were contacted to investigate. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 21st, 2020. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Rachelle Seguin, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on May 16th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on September 23rd, 2019 for an impaired operation charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 16th, 2020, the woman was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.


Cornwall, ON – Shari Gagnon, 52 of Cornwall was arrested on May 16th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to sign in with police in February, 2020 as per her conditions and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 16th, 2020, the woman was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.


Cornwall, ON – Megan Locker, 29 of Ottawa was arrested on May 18th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in early 2015 the woman deposited two fraudulent cheques. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 18th, 2020 a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Ottawa as Ottawa Police Service had the woman in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. She was transported to Cornwall and released to appear in court on August 11th, 2020.


DRIVE WHILE PROHIBITED
Cornwall, ON – Devon Johnson, 21 of Akwesasne was arrested on May 18th, 2020 and charged with drive while prohibited. It is alleged the man was driving a motor vehicle on May 18th, 2020 in the area of First Street and Prince Arthur. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 27th, 2020.


HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 18th, 2020 and charged with harassing communications. It is alleged during the month of May, 2020 the man repeatedly communicated with his ex-common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody on May 18th, 2020, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 18th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.


BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF BREAK IN TOOLS, CARYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – Peter Martin, 18 of Cornwall and a 16-year-old Akwesasne youth were arrested on May 19th, 2020 and charged with attempt break and enter. Peter Martin was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break in tools. It is alleged in the early morning hours of May 19th, 2020 they attempted to break into a convenience store in the north end of the city and police were contacted to investigate. Both were located a short distance away and Martin was found to be in possession of a BB gun as well as break in tools. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.


There were 205 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the long weekend (8am Thursday to 8am Tuesday morning).
