BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Williamstown man was arrested on May 26th, 2020 and charged with breach of a judicial release order for communicating with two persons he ha s conditions not to communicate with, being within 100 meters of them and for attending their residence. It is alleged on May 26th, 2020 police attended a Kingslea Crescent address for a disturbance call and found the man to be in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victims.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Harris, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 20th, 2020 for a theft under charge as well as a fail to attend court charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was located on May 26th, 2020, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 8th, 2020.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, IMPAIRED OPERATION, DANGEROUS DRIVING, FLIGHT FROM POLICE, WEAPONS, ASSAULT, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Nesbitt, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2020 and charged with possession of fentanyl, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and flight from police. It is alleged on May 26th, 2020 Nesbitt who was impaired by drugs, drove a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner and attempted to evade police during a high risk traffic stop in the area of Walton Court. His charges are as follows:
• possession of purple fentanyl
• impaired by drug
• dangerous operation of motor vehicle
• flight from police

The 32-year-old passenger was also taken into custody. It is alleged on May 22nd, 2020 he entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission, assaulted her and pointed a firearm at her. During the traffic stop a quantity of fentanyl, hash and illicit cannabis as well as Canadian Currency was located. His charges are as follows:

• assault
• possession of firearm
• pointing of a firearm
• unlawfully in a dwelling
• conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• use of firearm in commission of an offence
• breach of release order for being in possession of an illicit substance
• possession of illicit cannabis x 2 (hash and cannabis)
• proceeds of crime
• possession for the purpose of trafficking purple fentanyl
His name was not released as it would identify the victim. Both males were held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 25th, 2020 and charged with break and enter and breach of undertaking for communicating with his mother and attending her residence. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It’s alleged on May 25th, 2020 the man attended his mother’s residence and forced his way in. Police were contacted and located the man inside. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 26th, 2020 and charged with assault cause bodily harm. It is alleged during an argument on May 24th, 2020 the man assaulted his common-law wife and police were called to investigate. On May 26th, 2020 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 4th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

There were 55 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CHARGES

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit recently conducted an investigation into a man being in possession of child pornography. As a result of the ongoing investigation, on May 21st, 2020 members of the ICE Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and Community Patrol executed a search warrant at the man’s residence.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Travis Wall, 26, of Cornwall was taken into custody and charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography. The man was released to appear in court on August 11th, 2020.

During this pandemic, the CPS remains committed to the safety of our community. With people spending more time online, there is a need for families to implement safe internet practices in order to protect our children. ATTEMPT MURDER INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 25th, 2020 and charged with the following:

• Attempt to commit murder
• Aggravated assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Uttering threats x 3
• Breach of release order x 2 (for possessing a weapon and contacting his ex-girlfriend)
• Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace and possessing a weapon)

He was also arrested on the strength of a warrant for failing to comply with his release order in April.

It is alleged during the early morning hours on May 25th, 2020, the man had made threats to kill his ex-girlfriend, his ex-girlfriend’s sister, as well as a 30-year-old man known to him. At approximately 1:20 am, an altercation ensued between the accused and the 30-year-old man while outside, in the area of 55 Race Street. During the altercation, the male victim was stabbed with an edged object, resulting in serious injuries. He was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. During the investigation, the accused was taken into custody, charged accordingly and was held in custody to await a bail hearing. His name is not being released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old St Andrews West man was arrested on May 22nd, 2020 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged approximately 6 years ago the man sexually assaulted someone known to him and police were recently contacted to investigate. On May 22nd, 2020 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as the incident occurred when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Alyssa Printup, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on May 22nd, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs when it left the road on May 22nd, 2020 in the area of Rosemount Avenue. Police were contacted and attended and located the woman. She was taken into custody and found to be in possession of cocaine. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 25th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 23rd, 2020 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address, communicating with a certain person, being in the company of that person and for being outside his residence after having consumed alcohol. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his conditions when police attended a Carleton Street address for a disturbance. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 11th, 2020. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Michelle MacMillan, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2020 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on May 23rd, 2020 the woman damaged a vehicle of a person known to her and police were contacted to investigate. She was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 25th, 2020.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kayla Beaverstock, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on May 23rd, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 23rd, 2020 the woman sprayed another woman known to her with a hose and police were contacted to investigate. She was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 25th, 2020.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 24th, 2020 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on May 24th, 2020 the man assaulted his common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Solano, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on May 24th, 2020 and charged with breach of a release order for not residing at an approved address and for having consumed alcohol. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his conditions on May 24th, 2020 when police attended a Vincent Massey Drive address for a disturbance. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

There were 189 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
