Walmart Confirms Covid-19 Case at Distribution Centre in Cornwall Ontario

SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 – Walmart confirmed to CFN that in fact one of its Logistics workers tested positive for COVID-19.

Their comment is below with no word of how many other workers have been placed in quarantine.

CFN wishes the worker a speedy and and full recovery.

“An associate from our Cornwall Distribution Centre store has recently tested positive for COVID-19. We’re keeping the associate in our thoughts and wish them a continued speedy recovery. The associate last worked Sept. 12. We conducted a deep cleaning and are in contact with local public health.

Safety continues to be a top priority at Walmart. Rest assured, we will continue to take measures to support the well-being of our customers and associates, including: 

  • Increased enhanced cleaning throughout the facility.
  • Wellness checks that include a temperature check for all associates at the start of each shift.
  • Encouraging regular handwashing and physical distancing.
  • Sanitization stations throughout the facility.
