EOHU Roumeliotis Doesn’t Brief on HOLY TRINITY and MARIE TANGUAY COVID-19 Outbreaks in Cornwall. By Jamie Gilcig

OCTOBER 22, 2020 – Bewildered. Many in Cornwall are confused, afraid, and angry as information trickles out about the first confirmed school and daycare outbreaks of COVID in Cornwall.

If you go to the EOHU social media channels, at least as of publication time, nary a word or release about what was sent out to parents.

It’s bizarre and frankly scary. How do we media do our job if our health unit fails to do that during a pandemic? And this isn’t an isolated case. It also begs the question of how many instances and issues have the public not known about?

Thanks to a CFN viewer for sending over the information.

We will update IF more information is released.

Dear parents:
An account for our classroom has been set up on Microsoft Teams. Currently, Microsoft Teams is being used for the students in our class who are completing their education through distance learning. In the event of a school closure, Microsoft Teams would be used to facilitate virtual learning for all students. From this point forward, we will also be using Teams to share what is happening in our classroom with parents. It is important that all families make sure that they have access to their child’s Microsoft Teams account.
All students can access our teams page by following the link that has been sent to their student email account. We will be sending usernames and passwords for each student in their agenda. Parents are also invited join our Teams page through the link provided below.
In the attached file, you will find a basic introduction on how to use Microsoft Teams. You will see that it is an easy program to use!
Once you have accessed our Teams page, please let us know you were there by replying to the welcome post by typing your child’s name. If you are having any problems logging into Microsoft Teams, please let me know. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. We look forward to your visits on Teams!
Sincerely,
XXXXXXXX

  1. How many more times will Roumeliotis open his mouth only to have to retract what he said the day before?

I can fully appreciate many sides of the impact Covid-19 has had on individuals. Small Business Owners concerned with closures while other fear for there Health and the health of loved ones.

What I find more frightening and frustrating however is the consistent lack of decisiveness from or Dr. Roumeliotis.

One thing worse than a leader making a wrong decision is one that fails to make a decision at all! Constantly playing both sides of the field and playing Russian Roulette with peoples lives. Spewing out false information time and time again.

Remember this gem from when they decided to place the Cruise Ship of Death at the Nav Can Centre.

“If I was infected and coughed, it would go a couple of feet but drop to the ground and stay there,” he said. “If someone happened to touch it, they might get infected— but it’s not going to be airborne and going into ventilation like other viruses do.” Roumeliotis telling us something we all knew was not true at that point in time”.

    EVERYONE KNEW IT WAS AIRBOURNE!

How about this Beauty from October 16th…..?

“I think the chances are that we will likely be put into Stage 2, modified, for a variety of reasons, including the fact that we’re very close to Ottawa,” Paul Roumeliotis, the region’s medical officer of health, told CBC Radio’s All In A Day Monday.

Only to be followed up by the statement on October 21st once the Premiere past the Hot Potato back to Dr.Paul to make the decision and again the full 360 degree turn.

“(As a result of our current data) I recommended yesterday, and the chief medical officer of health recommend we not go into modified Stage 2, but implement some regulations that are more stringent,” Roumeliotis said.

And last but least how about what is considered an outbreak Mr Roumeliotis?

Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, medical officer of health for the EOHU, had previously said that to classify a school as being in an outbreak, two or more students had to test positive for COVID.

Now on Monday, he said an outbreak had not been declared because there was no link between the two cases.

Oh yes much better to have multiple sources than a single one????

And now there is a third case. What’s the excuse this timeDr Roumelitis?

Perhaps they didn’t get one of those letters you promise to send to the students of the Nav Can Parents that were being bullied this past winter….. “I’ve spent a lot of time speaking to Nav employees,” he said. “I know that some are worried. I’m also getting phone calls from schools saying that kids are being bullied now because their parents work at the Nav. Some parents are refusing to send their kids to daycares and to schools because their parents are working at the Nav Centre.”

Roumeliotis said he would be sending letters to school to address the issue, saying that there is no risk to children.

The good news out of all of this I guess would be if you don’t like what is being said by Dr. Paul Roumeliotis and our EOHU, just wait 24 hours.
