August 2009 EI Claims up 40.5% in Cornwall Ontario – October 30, 2009

The latest Stats Can numbers still show Cornwall losing jobs.   These are net number and don’t necessarily reflect the true financial impact.   For example; if we lose full time factory jobs and replace them with part time service industry jobs our number don’t fully impact the true financial loss to the local economy.

Brockville is up 66.2% so things could be a lot worse.    Of course Brockville doesn’t have the head of caucus representing them in Parliament.
