NV Productions has collaborated with Dream Builder Studios on several projects, including a promotional video on theSketch Urban Art Project, a highlights reel for the local Liberal Party on Michael Ignatieff’s recent visit to Cornwall, and several upcoming promotional videos for St. Lawrence College.

Vakily was referred to the Summer Company program while discussing possible employment opportunities with her college instructor Mark Owen, owner of Dream Builder Studios. Under Owen’s advice, Vakily applied for the program and began to offer her services to the community at large.

Since elementary school, Vakily has been involved in filming and editing her own videos. As the years went on, her experience and skills grew as better equipment and professional software were made more accessible.

Opening her own videography business was a natural fit, as it was both something Vakily showed an apt for and enjoyed doing. As Cornwall is not heavily saturated with many others who have experience in this field, it was a realistic and marketable choice as far as earning revenue.

Come September, Vakily will be returning to St. Lawrence College to finish her last year in the Journalism program. Though studying will be the top priority, Vakily plans to continue running her business part-time, and to keep making fun, enjoyable creations.
